Description:	Led by Bob and Al Marshall, who wereamong the top thirty runners in the State,University High Schools Cross Country teamcompiled an impressive season record. Outstanding runners for the season were Barrow, Marshall, David Thomas, Rich King, andSteve Wennign. Highlights of the seasonwere several record breaking runs by Barrow. He broke the record at the Martinsville course, which is considered one of thetoughest in the state. Marshall was only astep behind Barrow all season and beat himin some of the big meets. Thomas, King, andWenning supplied the necessary balance toproduce a winning season.The Harriers, ably coached by Jerry McIntosh, are hoping for another impressiveseason next year. Returning along with veterans Dave Thomas and Rich King are promising runners Tim Thrasher, Bruce Shaeffer,Rick Casati, Don Neal and Andy Hazelrigg.Led by senior Ray Webb, the Universitywrestling team compiled a 7-7 season record. Ray remained undefeated throughoutthe regular season, finished first in the sectional, regional, and state meets, and wasvoted the outstanding wrestler in the statemeet by the participating coaches. .In addition to Ray, wrestling coach Bob Kelleywill lose Jim Barrett and Jim Evertts. Returning next year will be Bill Peterson, JohnYoung, David Hagan, Bill Dickens, MontyMcDaniel, John Dyer, Jerry Hartsock, RonPennington, and Walter Luke. This largegroup of returning wrestlers will form anexperienced nucleus around which a successful Univee wrestling team can be builtnext year.T86
