Coach WaiterGray’s 1959 gridders hung up the best recordin the eleven year history of football at U-School as they rolled to a 9-1 record. The bestprevious record was a 7-2 slate by the 1951 and1952 teams. The Univees fell to Huntingburg26-21, for their only defeat of the season. Highlights of the year were a 40-13 rout of NorthVernon and a hard-fought win over Harry E.Wood of Indianapolis, 12-7. Two more records were fashioned in addition to the best season record. The Graymen tallied 209 points forthe year, far eclipsing the 200 point total of the’52 club. Individually, senior halfback DickWalker scored 28 points for the year, a newhigh. The Univees with their fine scoring attack were under 20 points only twice and topped 40 three times. The team exhibited a finedefense to go with their potent offensive attack,as they recorded three shut-outs and held op-Page forty-two
