Seniors combine academic and mischievous impulsesAs freshmen, the class of ’60 won the Home-coming contest with a giant Wood’ chopper,and struggled through algebra and dissection offrogs. The big event of the sophomore yearwas ordering class rings. When they finallycame in March, everyone seemed to be in a hurry to give his to someone else. Most of the junior year was spent preparing for The Prom,where the first and last problem was money,but the class of ’60 took the coward’s way outand charged dues. After Christie Dickason designed the prom around the theme Scherah-zade,” the new officers, Bill Carter, Denny Hale,Janet Hays, and Ann Christenson organized theclass for the work ahead. When the night finally came, everyone was tired, but not too tiredto enjoy The Best Prom in Years. Bill Carterand Lynne Cuttino were elected to be the royalcouple. Afterwards everyone rushed over to theafter-prom party in the Union Building, intent upon staying up all night if it killed them.- iw■Eighth period study hall was held on the center stairs thisyear. In attendance are Cammie Adams, Jim Binkley, BethCresson, and Dan McPheron. Dave Hunter prepares for Mrs.Gold’s English class.Steve Miller seems rather concerned as Bill Crafton strums hisbanjo in Economics class.Barb Bailey, Amy Hazelrigg, Valdar Oinas, Larry Lockridge,Denny Hale, and Martin Bidney do some last-minute cramming for exams.77 |
