Description: |
A good football team needs much more thanjust brawn. It requires training and experience, plus a big factor—leadership. In orderto furnish some of these needs, U-School hasa junior high sports program in which football is included.By drilling, these boys become physicallyfit for varsity games in the future. The onlygames, played during last season were of intramural caliber with the boys dividing into an“A” and “B” team.Coaching this year’s team was “an old hand”at the job, Fred Mills. Mr. Mills also coachesseveral other Junior High sports. Warren Pink-erman was the assistant coach this year.Junior High Football Develops Future Stars■« 3■iaK&l€■7C. **■it43r9«2 Z--iM, ■f ••IwZ ir12 21r A i .vFirst row: Billy VanKeuren, Dave Smith, Dennis Carter, Jack Winters, Mike Johnson, Russ Spanneth, Cliff Curry.Tommy Marshall, Gene Stegenga, and Bobby Nunn.Second row: Larry Stivers, Ronnie Alexander, Marc Speelman, Dave Rich, Billy Gilland, Ronnie Mills, John Wooden,Phil Curry, Bob Patterson, and Steve Werner.Third row: Mr. Mills, Bill Brummett, Billy Fleemer, Steve Fergusson, Dick Crouch, Monty Baugh.
