OF WORKING THE FIZZLE .. .The royal Coronation, otherwise known asthe crowning of the King and Queen of theJunior Carnival, originated in the spring of1950. Since then it has been an annual affair.About 10 o’clock the night of the Carnival,the King and Queen, who have been electedby vote during, and the week preceding theCarnival, are crowned. They are crowned by theKing and Queen of the previous year’s Carnival. This is a very beautiful and spectacularsight and one that is looked forward to.Life in the halls at U-School is hectic, especially during the five-minute break between classes. Students rush to and fro. Everyone seems to have five minutes to do something that takes ten.‘ V.IAHIMargie Rash and Dick Anderson reign as the 1953Junior Carnival Queen and King.is?’isAfter school there is always a mad rush to get books needed for study that night. At the right isthe Coronation Court of last year. The coronation is always one of the most beautiful and colorfulparts of the Junior Carnival.Page thirteen, |
