Description: Fo rewo rd:Just a few words about the U. H. S* basketball teamand their season.V/o realize that the Golden Arrows have won very fewof their scheduled games this season. This is not thefault of the coach—this I want to remind you. If ateam has a bad season the coach is frequently subjectedto criticism. If you think this way you are wrong.Being a member of the squad, I know the group of boyswas loyal and did their best to obey their coach. Butvictories just did not seem to come our way. At leastthe season was of value and we all enjoyed it. Let “bygones be by-gones and turn to the future. It lookslike the team next year will be a team to be proud of.I will try to give you a brief summary of the games thisyear:The Arrows opened the season with a game here withthe Springville team and were victorious, 23-18. In,November the Sclsberry not snipers came to Unionville andtangled with the Arrows and went homo with the victoryby the score of 47-13. Things looked bad. Seeking revenge the Red and White traveled over to the SmithvilleSkibos. Resolved to do better the Arrows mot the Nashville lads here in a battle royal, but lost the game byone point 22-21; that game should have been the Arrows’game but luck was not with them. On November 25 thelocal team was host to the greatly improved Ilolmsbuigfive and although keeping in pace with the visitors foia while Unionville lost, 37-20. December found the Arrows host to the league leading school, Ellets/ille, andthe Eagles won the tilt 27-17. The highly touted Gosport Indians came to U. H. S. and for the annual rivalrytilt but due to the Arrows’ carelessness they lost 20-19when a tall opponent tipped in a foul attempt by hismate. On the 18th we journeyed to the Bloomington gymfor a game with the PantheCubs and came home on thelong end of the score for the second time this season,22-10. Then returning a game with the Solsborry nectarsUnionville lost the tusslj by tne count of 37-22. Something was wrong--but what?
