Description: What strange power Is this that lets me see Unionville classmatesof ’51 as they are to be ten years from now in 1961.As I am walking down the street to lunch in downtown St. Louis,Missouri, I come across ROBERT McCOY. It seems as if Bob, as everyoneknew him, has been a jet plane pilot for a number of years and now hashis own transport business in Southern California. We continue only ashort distance when we meet Mrs. Harry Thurman and her two small sons.Of course, we remember her as AMY WAMPLER. The couple own a hotel inMiami, Florida, and her husband is attending a business meeting here.Bob Invites me to lunch with him at the Mayflower Cafe. We finda table at the far end of the room. After our order has been given wenote a distinguished gentleman seated near the entrance. He looksfamiliar, and, as we are leaving we find him to be none other thanWILLIAM McCOY, a former classmate. Bill, the name he always preferred,tells us that he is a professor at Indiana University and is attendinga series of conferences over the United States. We have decided bythis time to visit some noted places of interest that we visited whileon a high school trip in 1950.While at the Federal Reserve Bank, we find two other classmates,ERMA SKIRVIN and BARBARA SLUSS, who are now special investigators forthe F. B. I. They have just completed an assignment in Mexico and arereturning to their headquarters in Washington,D.C. We find the systemof banking at the Reserve Bank to be very interesting.We also visit Jefferson Memorial and Forrest Park before going tomy farm home for dinner. My parents are overjoyed at seeing Bob asthey havent seen him for a number of years.That evening,we attend a musical at a local theater. We are veryproud to find that the guest star singer is a friend of ours. She isnone other than GOLDIE RICHARDSON. We go backstage to speak with herand find that the director of the band for which she sings is GENEWALLS Swing and Sway Band. Gene comes back to talk with Goldie andwe chat with him a few minutes. He married a local girl and they havetwo boys. His band is on a tour through the United States. We leavethe two and return to our seats. We then find MR. and MRS. LONNIEMcCLUNG seated beside us. She was our sponsor during the last threeyears of high school. They now have a prosperous lumber company nearTerre Haute, Indiana. Their son,Larry,is attending Indiana University.The couple are on a trip to Arizonia to visit her brother.As we leave the building we see CAROLYN POLLEY walking toward ablue Buick convertible. We are able to catch up with her and to talka few minutes. Carolyn is directing her own band in New York and hasfinished an engagement in San Francisco, California.! ask if she knowsthe whereabouts of any of our classmates. She says that DONALD LINCI-COME has a large dairy herd of Holsteins on his farm near Cincinnati,Ohio. This herd has won top National awards the past year. /ROSALIEFRITCH is now a Powers model in New York City and is happily marriedto a former Bloomington man, who is a bookkeeper for the PhotoplayMagazine Company.Bob is flying to Kentucky the next day, and I decide to go as faras Indiana for a brief vacation. We land at Indianapolis at 10:30 a.m.where I meet my brother, who is to take me to Bloomington to visit my
