How to “Make the Grade”1. If the teacher asks a question, be sure to hold up your hand, cause if youdon’t she’ll call on you.2. Take your book home each evening, lay it up on the shelf, and don’t disturbit during the evening. Next morning dust it off and carry it back to school.3. Call up Maggie and get all the gossip.4. A good way to study “dates” is to go to the show.5. Don’t study too much cause if you do, you’re not smart; you’re just a drip.6. Thinking of your dream boy makes study of that dry algebra more bearable.7. While in class, if you see someone talking, be sure you do the same; oryou’re a goody-goody.8. If you can’t answer a question, tell about something you heard; or ask theteacher another question.9. If you don’t have time for your lesson, be sure to study the pictures.10. You can probably answer one question if you’ve got a good teacher who willco-operate by asking you the one you know.11. If the teacher keeps saying, “Get quiet”, remember to stop before she getsmad.12. When the bell rings for the next class, drop everything and run.13. Don’t waste intermission time by sharpening a pencil.14. When in a quiet study hall walk slowly up to the pencil sharpener, sharpenyour pencil, break the point several times, than walk slowly back again; andmaybe you will have time to figure out some other delaying action.15. If you hear a car passing, look carefully to see who is in it and where he isgoing cause the F. B. I. may be in need of your information.16. Never look over carefully the mistakes your teacher notes on your handed-in papers. Wad them up noisily so as to see everyone look around.17. Be sure you don’t make A’s cause if you do you’re the “Teacher’s Pet,”and it just isn’t done in the best student circles.18. Make plenty of noise in study hall. If you don’t, it’s just too quiet to concentrate.19. If you are late for class, you won’t miss anything which you can’t make theteacher think you will make up later.20. When you have to miss one day of school, why not miss two or three? Peoplewill be more apt to think you had the flu.21. Be sure to write your name on your cords during study hall or on any handydesk or wall so Kilroy will know you were here.22. Five days of this makes one weak. Print this and other clever little thingson the edges of your books. It takes only a little time and gets you in the moodto study.P.S.If you followed these rules carefully and didn’t “make the grade”, it’s theteacher’s fault cause all of this gave me an F. |
