Description: &%t44 f^qpAecpAs I, Shirley Harden, was going from my Bloomington home to the airport, I ran into an old friendof mine, Jim Pursell. Surprised at seeing Jim, I asked him what he was doing now. He told me that hewas an agent of the F. B. I. in our city and that Ruth Kiser was a member of the police force.After Jim and I chatted for awhile, I learned that Tom Marsh was now a Major General in the UnitedStates Army, while Jeanette Bingham was a General in the Womens Air Force.I bid Jim good-bye because I had only fifteen minutes left to get to the airport where my concertband was awaiting my arrival. I, the conductor, and the band were on tour through the Western States.Upon arrival at the airport, I spotted Janet Walls, editor of Life Magazine, who was waiting to acquireinformation for her next editorial. While giving Janet the story, I asked her about Myra Peterson. Shetold me that Myra was now Mrs. Dan Davis and the proud mother of a set of twins, Danny and Donna.The band and I then boarded the plane, of which Larry Prather was the pilot, to head for California.After I was settled, I was surprised to see Don Summitt in a seat ahead of me. Don was at that time employedby Indiana University as head basketball coach. Pat Harden and Mrs. Doris Grabill, other members ofthe University faculty were on the plane also. They were taking a lecture tour through California.It seemed only minutes later when we landed in the sunny state. Across the street from the airportI saw a sign which read, Livingstoa Oil Company, Dean Livingston, President. I decided to see Deanbefore going to a hotel. When I entered his office, I found Treva Freeman at the desk as his privatesecretary. Treva told me Janice Walden and Balford Day both owned farms just a few miles from the city.After ourdramatic lead.concert that evening, I went to see a movie which starred Brenda Richardson in a veryI went back to my hotel room and received a call from the desk to come down stairs. When I enteredthe lobby I found that Mrs. Franklin was the owner of the hotel. I told her of the experience in meetingall my past classmates that day.
