Description: |
IWW I ,r PHOTOGRAPHER -- Mr. McReynoldsEvery year the senior class assumes the responsibility of putting out a yearbook.First, this project must be financed. Since the selling price of the yearbooks is less thanhalf the cost, the class must finance the remaining cost by the sale of ads.As soon as the ads are sold, the planning committee sets to work on the layout mats.Everyone in school must have his picture in the book, and every important event of the yearmust be remembered. The pages and pictures that are closely associated in format andtheme are grouped in special sections.Next, pictures must be taken to fit the spaces drawn for them on the mats. The editing committee then begins in earnest; for every picture must be identified; and many stories” must be completed before the deadline. Typing all this copy is no small task, for thepublisher prints only what he sees.It takes approximately five months of concentrated effort by both sponsor and yearbook staff to get a book ready for the publisher. After this, payments must be collectedand recorded; so that when the books arrive during the last month of school, they can bepromptly distributed. The staff this year, wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Mr. and Mrs. McReynolds of Campus Studios, Bloomington, Indiana, for the very fine pictures taken by them, and their splendid co-operation with the staff.Last but not least, we wish to thank Mrs. Wisley, without whose help and guidanceThe Searchlight of 1958 would not have been possible.72 |
