In the opening game with Harrodsburg played on Smithville field, the young Skibos were beaten 10 to 7.after a few v^eeks intensive practice a return game was playedat Harrodsburg with the Skibos coming out on top, 7 to 4.When basketball season opened, Eugene Fox was the onlyveteran of last year to report for this years Jr, Hi. basketball team. Aspiring youths of the seventh and eighth gradequickly answered the call for a practice and training period.a flashly fast breaking team soon began to develop which givespromises of bringing championship honors to Smithville withina few years.During the season this team played Gosport, Needmore,Bloomington, Harrodsburg, Sanders, Kirksville, Paragon, andStinesville. Out of 12 games played, 5 games were victoriesfor the young Skibos.The season was completed with the Invitational Jr. Hi.Tourney at Smithville, in which the Skibos went to the finalgame to be defeated by Gosport.JUNIOR HIGH TKiMFront Row: (L. to R.)
