Description: In the fall of 1938, seventy one trembling Freshmen entered the portals of the new high school building. Survivingthe struggles of Freshman and Sophmore years, we returned forour Junior year. During this time there were many changes inour ranks, some falling by the wayside, others going intoother schools, and several new-comers joining our class.Early in our Junior year our class was organized. ThomasSimes being elected President, and Blaine Deckard, Vice President.For the first play in the history of the class theJuniors presented Over the Rainbow”, a comedy.In accordance with tradition the Juniors entertainedthe class of 1941 at the annual Junior-Senior Reception.They chose the Spring Mill Inn as their rendezvous. Thebanquet hall was decorated in both the Junior and the Seniorclass colors, red, white, and blue. Speeches and featuredentertainment were presented between courses. Later alladjourned to the lower terrace and recreation hall for dancingand games.At last we embarked jubilantly on the last lap of ourjourney. Only 42 of us answered the roll call at the beginning of the year ^nd later two of these decided not to accompany us further. This left only 40 Seniors to continueon the road toward graduation.At a class meeting early in the year we elected officersas follows: Burtai Owings, president; Larry Grubb, vice president; Betty Mercer and Bernice Lentz, secretary and treasurer.Class colors, motto, and class flower were selected at thesame time.
