Description: SENIOR CLASS HISTORY’’Anchored at LastWhen our ship set sail in the year nineteen hundred andthirty five (1935), there were fifty green Freshmen and,eitht officers on board. During the course of our voyagefive more were added to our number.The ship was just getting settled on a smooth coursewhen the great storm (the burning of our school) came onFebruary the twenty seventh. That made Indiana Universityour next port.We remained at the university two months and took inall the sights possible in that amount of time. Afterwardswe were dismissed for vacation and our crew and officerswent to their homes.The next year when we came back, the ship was at theK of P Hall, the Depot and the Gymnasium. Some of theformer crew were enjoying other walks of life andsome of theofficers were changed. Mr. Sargent and Mrs. Endwright wereadded to the list and Mr. Patrick was marked off. This yearwas very stormy. With wind, rain, sleet and ice, making our* voyage more perilous than ever, we finally succeeded inreaching home port for a good summer vacation.When we again convened to go aboard the ship, we foundthat the number of the crew had decreased to seventeen andthat one of our officers, Mrs.. Endwright, had been replacedby Mrs. Trisler.Again we set sail. With storms almost sinking the shipand with sunshine or happiness, we succeeded inaccomplishingthe following things, the organization of a band, in having,our first social event, ’’The Junior and Senior Banquet” goover in good stylo and several other things happened which,brought us much joy.The fourth year of our service on board the ship we hada now port, ’’The New Grade and High School.” This timethere was one member added to the crew and one more officer,Mr. Harold Heckman.The fourth year of our voyage has been easier sailing.
