Description: laflau»nirisbU* 1.UiKPrem lasmta188To all my friends in Harmony,It seemed only like yesterday I walked down the halls ofHarmony, greeting familiar faces and feeling the warmth of togetherness. There isa certain magic in Harmony which attracts people from all over to converge to thisharmonised institution of education. Ive never been happier in my life than I’vebeen in Harmony. The teachers, the students and it’s system have really made aninfluential mark on me. The closeness and togetherness between teacher and studentcannot be found anywhere else. Two weeks back, my mom and I went on a pilgrimage to India.South India to be exact. It was my first trip ever. The feeling of “returning” toones motherland is such a sensation. South India was particularly dry since it wasthe begining of the hot season which means frequent electricity and water cuts! Theheat was intolerable so I was quenching my thirst with gallons of mineral water forthe water in India is not safe to drink. We visited many temples and other places of worship. Thehighlight of the trip was the shaving of my head! Hindus shave their heads whenthey are I year old. They also do it when they have taken a vow or have succeededin their vow. I did it because I wanted to pass my upcoming exam which is theexam (hat “kills” every teenager in Malaysia. It is the dreaded S.P.M. exam ( SijilPclajaran Malaysia) Malaysian Certificate of Education. It basically is your ticketout of high school and into the rough and tough and the highly competitive world. In simple terms, it determines your future. I’ve got eight months more before theexam. I he exam consists of two to three years of work combined into one paper ofdifferent subjects such as History, English, Commerce, Economics and the NationalI -anguagc - Malay. That is all I have to say right now. There is much more totalk about but I guess Ill be using up the whole page by now! To end this, I justlike to say T hank You to all the teachers and students for teaching me that thesimple values in life can be found in ones heart but most important of all, it can befound at Harmony, where your feelings and bodies are always safe.Your friend,Prem Vasudevan
