Eighth Grade^mpsWere speaking of the Eighth Grade,Indeed they are quite wise;If a fuss develops in class meeting,The thing they do is compromise.IllWere the Eighth Grade class of E. H. S.Were trying hard to do our best,To help each other at all times,And so withdraw everybodys whines.IIWe have twro very fine sponsors,Mrs. Dalton and Miss West,To make our parties successful,They always do their best.IVWeve all been togetherSince the year of 24.And the year of 36We will leave the assembly door.Kathryn Stevens and Janet HarrisClass History of the Eighth GradeWe, a class of forty-three pupils, entered the assembly in 1929. When we entered wedid not know what to do, where to sit, or where to go when the bell rang. The first day wewere in class the telephone rang and we all jumped up and ran to the assembly. We hadthe name of being the meanest bunch that ever entered the assembly. We have improvedso much in the last year, that Mr. Weathers said we were actually acting like Junior Highstudents. We have everything that the average class has and we have lots of pep. Youwould think so too if you knew our History like we do. We have wizards, dumbells, wits, cases, and gossips.Mrs. Hazel Dalton and Miss Maxine West, our sponsors, assisted us in electing our officers, which are as follows: David Campbell, President; Janet Harris, Secretary; Kathryn Stevens, Treasurer. We decided to have Sweet Peas for our class flower, and ourclass colors are Pink and White; our Motto is Make the best better. This year we havebeen permitted to have our officers, class dues, class flowers, and Motto, which makes usfeel as though we have something to work for and make a successful year of 1931-1932.Elizabeth StevensVivian FreemanPage Fifty-two |
