LLAMARADA* * *Carl SmithSmitty, the scoring- ace of the varsity, was a good all-round basketballstar, both from the offensive and defensive ends. All through the seasonhe was a marked man but in spite ofthis, his share of the points was alwayslisted when the gun fired. Being captain of the varsity, Smith was of greathelp to the coach and the team. Carlhas served his four years faithfully.Charles MayBussie or Killer, it makes no difference which, is a hard driving guard. He is red-headed and therefore has atemper, which stirs up his fight on theball floor. Few opponents were able tooutguess Bussies dribbling ability, andnone ever caused him to weaken. Busis also a four-year man, who will bemissed greatly.Hubert GrubbGrubbie, who helped Smitty as co-captain, won the laudable comment ofthe fans with his clever guarding andball handling ability. His cool headand enthusiastic desire to win madehim a real star. Hubert has workedhard during his four years of basketball, and it will be difficult to Andsomeone to take his place.Frank WilberHammer completely dumfoundedeveryone by his long-range basketshooting. Though very short in stature, he usually managed to get in onhis share of the scraps. He is a shiftylittle ball player and will be missedalong with the rest of the boys. Frank, like all the other Seniors, is a four-year man.(This page through the courtesy ofPeggys Cafe)Page Forty-three |
