16LLAMARADASENIOR POEMViolet Abbitt is a meek little lass;She has studied hard for her schooling,She is the quietest one in all the classAnd has followed the teachers ruling.Herman Brinson, a big country lad;His sideburns are his pet.He is never mischievous or bad;His leaving he will regret.Albert Burch, with his curly red top,A ladies man is he;Over the hurdles he can hop.Hes a friend to both you and me.Mary Alice Eads, our Treasurer,Takes care of our spending and income;Going to school to her is a pleasure,For she made good grades and then some.Wallace Freeman, a farmer lad,Rushes home from school to work;Always a smile, he is never sad.From assignments he never shirks.Maryfrances Goodall, a good girl is she,If in bed and not having bad dreams;A dress model she would like to be,Or thats the way it seems.Walter Beard is a new boyAnd has studied every day.Making good grades is his joy;Never in school does he play.Hollis Brown, a farmer lad is he;He parts his hair in the middle.He goes at his work quite merrily;He can tell a good joke or riddle.Martha Byers, the smallest one in our classOf either the girls or the boys;All of her subjects have been easy to pass,For she worked and made no noise.Ercell Fender is tall with dark curly hair.She works in the office you know;Her work has always been better than fair,And she tells us she has a cute beau.Walter Freeman, a small town dude,Is one of our basketball stars.By all the ladies he is pursued;Boys would have a chance with him behindbars.Wayne Gorham likes to act in plays,Tell a joke, or something else funny.He hates to say good-bye to school days,For now he will have to make his own money.Wayne Hall is tall and slimAnd has a winning way;It seems that everyone likes him.He always has something to say.Virginia Hanna is very impressedAt being a senior, you see,And trying her very, very bestA business woman to be.Paul Hinton, an educated lad;He thinks math is almost a snap.A problem always makes him glad,Although he doesnt give a rap.Dorothy Jackson is hard to beat;She works and has her fun.A diploma to her is no large feat;In the end she has always won.Ethel Miller liked to typeAnd made fun of all the rest,But now she cannot gripe;She likes married life the best.Frances Noel hails from WhitehallTo get an education.She isnt worrying at all;At Commencement she has her reservation.Garland Ranard, nicknamed Gar,He likes to play basketball fast,Or pole-vault over the bar;As an athlete he is not surpassed.Charles Jackson, nicknamed Chuck,Is a farmer and school boy, too.Easy going, and has all the luck,Like all the good farmers do.Bertrice Lawhead always has a smile;A laugh will surely win through.Happy, gay, and laughing all the while,But she gets her work done, too.Alexander Muir is our class president,And a worthy one I must say.His thinking and brain work is no accident;He has helped us all the way.Wynn Patton reads as a ruleA wild west or two;And when he isnt skipping school,He doesnt know what to do.Mildred Ratliff, we call her Mid,A friend to us one and all—She isnt ashamed of the work she did,For in it she never did fall. |
