Description:	T aThe Sophomore ClassWe, the Sophomores of Ellettsville High,Realize the end of our schooling is nigh.Many have come and many have gone,In other long years weve struggled on.There are thirty-six in our present class,Who next year to Juniors hope to pass.Freeda is president of our distinguished class,And when absent, the duties to Wayne Easton pass.The next two officials who work at their leisure,Are Justine, secretary and Marie Moore, treasurer.Just imagine Emma running from a mouse,Or think of La Verne as a farmers spouse!Would you like to see Viola shooting at a bear,Or rather see Alan curling his hair?Virginia cranking an Old model T,Or Leonard as a wash woman rather see?Milton, clerk in a millinery shop,Or else see Eva with her potato crop?Willard, chief cook and bottle washer,Ada Fern, champion potato bug squasher.Geneva at work in a lumber camp,Or Gertrude an old bachelors heart try to vamp ?Would you rather see Lenora with a rolling pin,Or see Dorothy set a rooster for a hen ?Christine so quiet, her words tries to save,Id like to see Erie with a permanent wave.If Helen is a teacher when she is an old maid,Will she hoard her money when she gets paid?Raymond a hobo, wouldnt he make a dandy?Or Marjorie a peddler who sells shoe strings and candy?Max—King of all kinds of jokes and fun,Imagine Woodrow as a professors son.Pauline Pogue as a junkmans wife,Charles in a fight with a butcher knife.James on a Shetland pony riding,Russell from the antique collector hiding.Charles Smith on his first date,Or Floyd Stansburvs soul-mate!Nola would probably make a good minister,And Louise a cranky, old fashioned spinster.Imagine Robert, proprietor of a beauty shop,Or Elizabeth Wickens a traffic cop.Anna running from an old gray goose,Or Mr. May, our sponsor, when a lion got loose!The sweet-pea is our flower, chosen by all.Our motto, Together we stand, divided, we fall.Pink and white are our colors, appropriate indeed,It stands for our loyalty, which every class needs.—Russell Shaw.Page Sixteen
