Description: CLASS HISTORYIn September. 1942 Mrs. Leota McNeely found herself surrounded by somany scrawny little headaches. They were to be coaxed, pushed, andproddedfor twelve years to become Ellettsville High Schools Class of 1954. The firstfour years were dedicated to learning the three Rs. Readin was the dutythat befell Mrs. Leota. Ritin was the task Mrs. Frances McNeely and Mrs.Mary Frances Kleindorfer inherited Mrs. Kleindorfer had double duty as shehad to introduce us to the problems of Rithmetic. Mrs. Mae Rowe and Mrs.Maxine Sampson tried hard to clear up the mysteries of geography and history, but succeeding only to a small degree, gladly handed us on to Mrs. Frances Deckard, and we became the grade school big wheels.Where do we go next? were the bywords of the seventh year. The privilege of paying class dues, having parties, and a sponsor were granted to us.The eighth year was climaxed by a graduation exercise which was the highlight or the junior high school. Our high school career began with a nickname, * Green an initiation, and a Freshman Banquet. Mrs. Pat Nagy helped us through that year, andMiss Jane McCown guided us through the sophomore year. We had the pleasure of initiating the freshmen. We lost many classmates? and gained severalnew ones.As juniors the eagerly awaited moment of ordering class rings arrived. We also gave our first play and sold concessions at ball games, under theguidance of Mrs. Thelma Hawkings and Mrs. Beatrice Overstreet, we startedplanning for the senior trip as the conclusion of our high school years. Oureventful junior year was climaxed by a beautiful Starlight Frolic. At last we are seniors!!! We have manv things to be proud of-our team, our plays, our banquets, our prom, and all the fun we have had in workingand playing together for twelve years. The halls of Ellettsville shall no longer echo the laughter, the joys, and the sorrows of ours, the Class of 1954.Sponsored by: HUDSON FUNERAL HOME, Ellettsville, IndianaPhone 33 - Prompt Ambulance Service
