As the time passedby and we gradually assumed our responsibility, wTe took the reins in hand and drove our way andoccasionally gave the others a lift. Although the road had many ruts and our horses of knowledgeoften went to their knees on exams, we emerged with our colors shining.We entered school in the fall of 20 with several little folk of whom Walter Wickens, WalterSmith, Wanda Gooldy, Billie Goolcly, Charles Price, Alberta Lee and Maurice Endwright haveremained with us throughout our school years. Mrs. Frances Brown was our first teacher andshe also has continued to teach in the Ellettsville Schools.Miss Tracey Denbo took us in hand next and we learned the second reader from cover to cover.Ruby VanBuskirk taught us in our third year.The next year, our fourth, Olive Hepley and Mrs. Silvers mastered us.Miss Ferguson helped us through the fifth and sixth grades.In 1927 we started as a large class in the seventh grade. Mr. Weathers was our sponsor. Ourofficers were: Charles Price, President; Julian Sparks, Vice-President and Lillian Lonyo, Secretary and Treasurer.In the Eighth year Mr. Weathers was our sponsor and our officers were: Maurice Endwright,President; Ervin VanBuskirk, Vice-President, Kelsey Hawkins, Secretary and Treasurer. We selected as our motto: Sunrise, not Sunset, our flowers: the Red and White Carnations and our colors:Walnut and Gold.As Freshmen Mr. Weathers was again our sponsor; Clarence Eakin, President; Maude Craigand Helen Blackwell, Vice Presidents; Maurice Endwright, Secretary and Treasurer and JulianSparks, Editor. We held a Freshman Night; and exhibitions and entertainments were furnishedduring the evening for the public.As Sophomores, Mr. Weathers was our sponsor the first semester and Mr. E. E. Webster replaced him the second semester. Clarence Eakin acted as President, Harold Pryor, Vice-President,Maurice Endwright, Secretary and Treasurer and Maude Craig, Editor. We held a SophomoreFestival November 23. We had many students in various activities, basketball, Boy Scouts, Hi-Y,Agriculture Club, Orchestra, Band, Home Ec.Club and Wrestling team.In our Junior year our sponsor was Mr. Weathers, our officers were: Wanda Gooldy, President,John Stansbury, Vice-President and Charles Price, Secretary and Treasurer. This year we gavetwo plays, The Purple Monkey and The Poor Married Man. The Juniors still held the mostbasketball men. *■This year, our last year in E. II. S., eight boys represent the Seniors on the B. B. squads. Thereare twenty-three Seniors; six girls and seventeen boys. In our last year Mr. Weathers is again sponsor, Kelsey Hawkins, President, Wanda Gooldy, Vice-President and Clarence Eakin, Secretary andTreasurer! We presented one play; a mystery show, The Yellow Shadow, which was a great success. We are publishing the third Llamarada edited at E. II. S. Several Seniors have taken anactive part in all school affairs and have attained the honor roll most every month. We hope theClass of 32 will leave a name to be remembered to old E. II. S.Walter K.
