A lotof people had a lot of experiencewhich made it easier to get the jobdone. A lot of good team chemistry, freshman Harrison Cottingham said.Within this band of brothers, senior ColtonBennett stood out. He scored 7 hat tricks in agame, including one game in which he scored 7goals against South Vermillion. In addition, he seta record for most goals scored in a season with31.Memorable, a blast,and something that Iwould like to do again- freshmanHarrison CottinghamIt was really exciting. It had been the record forabout 16 or 17 years, so I was really glad to finallybe able to set it this year, Bennett said.Perhaps the best moment of the year came inOctober when the Mustangs defeatedarch-rival Owen Valley 10-0. Fivedifferent players accounted for goals inthe game, including 3 by Bennett.It felt satisfying because last yearwe had planned on beating them 10-0but we ended up tying them, so toactually win 10-0 this year was quite satisfying,Bennett said.The Mustangs also won the Western IndianaConference, their first conference title since 2009.Memorable, a blast, and something that I wouldlike to do again, Cottingham said about theseason.
