601WINTERMRS. WRIGHTS TAKEFACS advisor Mrs. Wright, who has taught atEHS for fifteen years, has been given the hard taskof taking over cooking, fashion, homeeconomics, and even FACS club this yearRealizing Im the only one teachingthese classes now is quite a bigchange, Mrs. Wright said. When Ifirst came there were three of us, nowits just me running back and forth?Mrs. Wright now has a lot morelesson plans to create and papers tograde. Dealing with multiple classesshe definitely has a lot more to keeptrack of.Multitasking is hard. Thinking about a testfor one class, worksheet for another class, and thenthinking about the project for another, AND TRYINGTO FIT THESE DARN IPADS IN, gets a little tricky.OYERI grade as I go so that Im not behind. I was gone fora week and came back. So being out for a long timemakes it hard to keep up, but I grade as I go,Mrs. Wright said.Though Mrs. Wright has a lot more tohandle, she has also been able to gaina lot of good out of the experience also.I definitely get to see a differentspectrum of students that might nothave taken my classes but they wantedto be in. Lets say nutrition and wellness. Some of these students I havent hadbefore, so Im exposed to new students Iget to see and teach and be part of theirinstructional life and that kind of thing, so itbroadens my base of students that I am around, Mrs.Wright said. |
