Thereis much more than goes on in the music roomthroughout the day that these patrons never see.The music room has no classes during the homeroom periods, yet every day there were indivdualsand groups practicing in the rooms for performances and contests. Second period and third period,voices echoed down to the Superintendents office,as the chorus practiced for convocations and concerts. Besides the singing, the chorus sold manyboxes of candy to pay for new robes and music.Fourth period Music Theory, a new addition tothe curriculum this year, gave interested studentsthe necessary background in scales construction,intervals, tatrachords, involved time signatures, andeventually harmony and arranging with transportation.Fifth period the band practiced for its many parades, concerts, halftime shows, and came backfrom the district solo and ensemble contest withthree first place groups.v[1%0Uk*l%1 f1t1W ^5ri.r Vi4wi^i -^f ^i • ^v\fif>j0***1i yjrA■VjU. mfew **V»f\ 1Mr. Row gives last minute instructions before the band proceeds toline up.30Music Theory students pick out the song which they will study. |
