Abshier started playingorganized baseball when he was around six yearsold. When I first started playing I had a good graspon the concept of the game because I had alreadybeen playing for a couple of years, said Abshier.He was always selected to play on the all-star teamwhen the regular season came to an end. Playingall-stars was always something I looked forwardto, said Abshier.During his freshman year in high school, Abshiergot to play on the junior varsity team. Then as asophomore he lettered on varsity. The summerafter his sophomore year he played on a summertraveling team called Blue Storm. Abshier traveledto Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and allover Indiana.Baseball is just one of the sports Abshier plays.He has also lettered in basketball and football. Itsreally hectic playing all three sports because Imbusy year round, explained Abshier. But once Iget going in the sport, Im really glad I went aheadand played.jv
