oung Team Worksror Futureby Heather BrownExperience is often the bestteacher but even though theLady Mustangs had a relativelyshort season due to rainoutsand cancellations, the teammanaged to turn a winning season. Experience was what theyneeded because in manygames the starting line-up included three freshmen andthree sophomores in what wasbasically a young team. But according to Coach Fellure theteam still got some reallygood games in. The key tomany of the games was in thepitching of senior Traci Dot-terer with back-up by BeckyPatterson. If there were controlproblems, they were answeredby base hits in games such asthe 18-13 victory over WhiteRiver Valley. A thrilling victorycame in the come from behind16-9 win over Eastern. Otherhighlights were a 7-5 win overNorthview where sophomoreBecky Patterson went 3 for 4and Cindi Myers hitting 2 for 3in the 7-5 win over Monrovia.Hitting wasnt all they learnedas witnessed by the nine stolenbases in the 11-7 victory overGreencastle.Running as fast as she can go,Becky P. hurries to get around thebases.Row 1: S.
