Description: —Henry F. Schricker LibraryOn September 1 6, 1 966, Ellettsville had the opportunity to honor itsown adopted citizen, former governor Henry F. Schricker. The libraryof Edgewood High School was dedicated to this fine man.Henry Schricker was known for many things. He was the only manelected to the governorship of Indiana for two terms. Mr. Schrickerwas also known as the founder of the Indiana State Police.Besides all of these honors, Mr. Schricker was an honorary citizen ofEllettsville and had attended most of the Fall Festivals.The dedication program was well attended by students and local citizens. During the course of thededication a photograph of an oil painting of Mr.Schricker and a plaque were presented to Ken Davidson and Mr. Lewis. An interesting fact is that thepicture frame and the plaque are made from thewood of the main deck of the battleship Indiana.On December 28, 1966, Henry F. Schrickerpassed away in his hometown of Knox, Indiana. Mr.Schricker will be lovingly remembered by all whovisit the library.96
