Practically flying down thetrack, junior Alita Chambers was often the subject ofsuch comments. Leadingher team to first place insometimes three and fourevents, Alita was votedMost Valuable. She thenwent on to qualify for statein the 100, and anchored the400 relay team of Dell Cas-sady, Karla Weathers, andLisa Anderson that qualifiedfor regionals. Another regional qualifier was the1600 meter relay team ofseniors Tiffany Donley, K.Weathers, junior LauraRamsey, and freshman LisaAnderson. Other strong andconsistent performers wereAnnie Macatangay, andShannon Stout. As coachGarry Anderson had predicted the Mustangs wereformidable in the runningevents, but were unsettledin the field events. The teamended with a 6-4 recordwhich was a little short ofpre-season goals, but finished 2nd in the W.C.C.Seconds out of the starting blocks,Edgewood dominates the 200.Shannon S. concentrates on opening her stride to lengthen her lead.With a strong start Holly B. hopes todrop a couple seconds off her time.23
