Baseball picks off 2ndin ConferenceEdgewood Diamondmen tied for 2nd inthe West Central Conference and two members Glenn Glasscock and Travis Dot-terer made the All Conference team. Theteam started out slow this year, but as theseason progressed so did the team. Teamleadership really picked up as the season gotunderway. Edgewoods coach Bob Jonesstated, The weather was cold at the beginning of our season and I believe our batswere in hybernation but as the weatherpicked up so did the bats and some of theplayers.Glenn Glasscock was really hot thisyear as he pitched a couple of 3 hit games,two 2 hit games, one 1 hit game and one nohitter. He has 134 strikeouts and has hissights set on Doug Chestnuts 146 seasonal record.Edgewood had some good defensive playsout of a lot of different people. The reserveteam has a good record and Coach Jonesbelieves the upcoming players can helpmake the Mustangs program successful.The Mustangs will be graduating; TylerCurry, Brent Harrison, Glenn Glasscock, Scott Stine, Wayne Costin andTravis Dotterer. These players will bemissed, after their contributions to a verysuccessful season.Tyler lays one down and uses his speed to get on first.!! I58sports |
