According to manystudents, the labs help them understand the material better. Thelabs do help. Its better when you can actually see whats going onfor real, instead of just reading about it, states junior KristyHawkins. Junior Don Cranfill says, I feel I learn from the labs andthey do help you to understand what you are studying by actuallywitnessing the experiment instead of reading about it. FreshmanJason Abbitt comments, Its easier to take the test if theressomething to relate to. Most students agree that the labs also helpto make the class more interesting. Senior Sheila Hite says, Labsmake the class more interesting. They are a break from everydayclass time. They also give you a chance to apply what you arelearning. Freshman Jason Cruzan, a biology student, explains itthis way, Labs make the class more interesting because you get towork in groups and discuss the project instead of being spoon-fednotes and swallowing it all at the same time. Chris Stillions enjoysthe labs, Because it is the only way I can keep from failing the class.Team work is the only way to go. Senior Amy Bohall states, Labsdefinitely make class more interesting. Through experiments wereable to see science in action. Its a lot more interesting that simplycopying notes down. Freshman Jenny Chesney agrees, Theyprovide diversity. They make biology different from all your otherclasses. In Physics, the air-car lab was voted most popular. Thechicken embryo lab was the unanimous favorite in advanced biology.Alison Wesolowski, a senior, sums it up this way, Being the curiousperson that I am, all the labs were great.
