To parents, it is a nightof excitement, apprehension and attimes total shock of seeing their sonin a tuxedo!As you can tell, the prom meansmany things to many differentpeople. However, to many Edgewoodstudents, May 3, 1980 was a veryenjoyable evening. For many, thenight started out with dinner at oneof Bloomingtons fine restaurants.Then the couples departed for theFrangipani Room in the I.U.Memorial Building. The decorationscreated a Hawaiian atmosphere andthe girls were each presented with aHawaiian lei. Hors doeuvres wereserved and music was provided byCoe & Co.The highlight of the evening arrivedwhen Junior President, Bill Truex,announced that Seniors David Adamsand Tanja Frye had been chosen toreign over the evening.The afterprom was held in theCommons, also located in the UnionBuilding. Pool, bowling, and pinballwere just a few of the many activitiesthat the couples engaged in. Albumswere given away as prizes at theAfterprom.For all who attended the prom, thetheme song Still became a realityas memories still continue to linger intheir minds and will for many yearsto come.David Adams and Tanja Frye were selectedKing and Queen at the 1980 prom.When the couples became too tired to dance,the dining area became the best place fortalking.12
