Before its time to march one just feelsslightly nervous then one startsthinking about all the people that willbe watching. The staff gives pep talksuntil by the time the band is ready toperform ones stomach feels like atake-off field for butterflies and bats.The band is on the starting line.Everyone is at fever pitch. The announcer calls The EdgewoodMarching Mustangs! the crowdscreams, and before one knows it,its all over. At last its time to relax.But is it? The top 16 has yet to beannounced. The excitement has justbegun.The band placed 14th.Cindy Combs gives last minute pep talk.Brad Watkins awaits performance time.The crowd goes wild as the Sweet Sixteen is announced.23 |
