The 1973 Homecoming week proved tobe an exciting event with the addition ofmany new festivities. The StudentCouncil planned a parade throughEllettsville the night of the game. It wasled by the Marching Mustangs andproceeded through the town up to thehigh school. Parents night was held atpre-game. At this time, all the parents ofthe football team and the cheerleadersparents were introduced. Followingpre-game the Mustang team received thekick and proceeded to dominate the firsthalf. During halftime, the MarchingMustangs performed a ten minuteroutine. The queen was crowned after theperformance. The candidates for queenwere Susan Bastin, Sue Eiche, RheaFreeman, Mary Beth Hawkins, BethRogers, and Libby Webb. Rhea Freemanpresided over the 1973 Homecominggame with her attendants KathyLivingston, Janice Null and SherrieBurton. The German Club was chosen asbest in the float competition. TheMustangs came back on the field secondhalf and continued their string ofvictories, beating South Putman 78-0.The victory dance followed the game andwas enjoyed by all that attended.13 |
