Bloomington South senior Jacob Holbrook explains what hebelieves is the part of the game where he can improve on mostand how he helped himself do improve.II Ive always been pretty inconsistent with myirons, and I feel like if I could improve theiraccuracy I would be able to throw some lowerscores. To improve on this, you have to put alot of work in on your overall swing. Anotherdifficulty is getting over some of the mentalaspects. If you double bogey the first holeyou play then you have to be able to shake itoff and keep going with the round. Ifiv IveJunior Tanner Shapiro added wisdom, talent and experience to thegolf team. Shapiro, an experienced golfer, knew that success duringthe season happened only with practice. Many athletes, Shapiroincluded, put in long days during the golf season. The real changeand improvement for Shapiro, however, happened in the offseason. I work out a lot and I go to a private instructor to work onmy swing, Shapiro said. Shapiro was a prime example of how workin the off-season paid off in the regular season.c$golf maestroThe South boys golf team went over the definitions of some of the misunderstoodlanguage of golf.CDfJcir the number of strokes expected for each holeTGG DOK the box where each golfer starts the holethf* tnunh areason a golf course outside of the fairways that generally feature** higher, thicker grassQdQlQ shooting the ball into the hole two less strokes than the par for that holeEvolve134 |
