Description:	I felt very connected to the play,it was something we all createdtogether. - junior isabelle Nealdown theholeSqprium Productions had their firM ■ksho^LAlice n Wonderland, at theskirk Chumley Theater on AuguSHHBkImagine a play run entirely by students, for students. The possibilities areendless, and Solarium Productions did just that. Solarium is a new and upcomingorganization put together by South students, and their recent performance of Alicen Wonderland was their first of many. The show was performed at the BuskirkChumley Theater, a great asset and a perfect venue for this group. The crew was veryhappy to be able to work at the Buskirk-Chumley, as it opened up a lot ofopportunities for advanced technical and special effects. Solarium was alsosponsored by The Boys and Girls Club. Although the show was entirely student run,all of the money made from the ticket sales benefited TBGC.Senior Jacob Sexton took the role of the director for this production becausehe liked the idea of a student having the whole directing responsibility. Doing theplay entirely student run gave [students] a lot of opportunities that they wouldntnormally have,, Sexton said. Alongside this newfound freedom of expression weresome difficulties. The group had an initial struggle with advertising around thecommunity, however, over 1,000 people attended the show, making it a hit. All jobsneeded to help make the play successful both on stage and backstage were given tostudents.Junior Isabelle Neal was one of the many students that recognized the unusualopportunity and seized it. Although Neal came into the first day of auditions with nointentions of getting the lead role, she ended up playing Alice. I felt very connectedto the play as a whole, because it was just something we all created together, Nealsaid. The actors and cast members all bonded and became very close as they workedhard to perfect their production. - grace nugent
