South students were able to experience this phenomenon duringtheir spring break mission trip.During the 2017 spring break mission trip to Toronto,Canada, students from South were encouraged tospend their week experiencing a plethora of ethnicityand culture. The trip provided students with manyopportunities, including serving a number ofindigenous churches from around the world andpartaking in contemplation with any languageimaginable at different places of worship.According to sophomore Seth Glasscock, theToronto mission trip allowed students to learn andcomprehend the customs of different religions.Learning how other cultures practice variousreligions is interesting when compared to what youbelieve, he said.Traveling to Toronto consisted of a group of 11students, a nine hour bus ride, and according tojunior Hadley Knaus, lots of fun and games. Thesestudents spent a lot of time together visiting andinteracting with religious executives in Synagogues,Mosques, and Hindu and Buddhist temples. Knausclaimed that the mission trip was one to remember,saying that going to Toronto was a great opportunityto experience and be a part of multiculturalexperiences.This mission trip allowed students to focus onthemselves and what they believe. Glasscock said thatthis trip stood out from others in that it was a lotmore of a learning experience, giving us time tospiritually explore our beliefs. Knaus also thoughtthat Toronto was different from previous missiontrips. It was amazing how we interacted with thedifferent religions in a way in which no one tookoffense to the various beliefs, she said.
