Mehay enjoys giving thegifts of hand-printed t-shirts, matted art,and ceramic works. While Mehay nowprefers making presents as opposed topurchasing them, she did not always givegifts this way, saying that she only begangiving her works of art as gifts since [shed]been in the class. Mehay believes that thereare many benefits to making presentsinstead of buying them, including that thefriends and family, but instead of creatingpottery or similar works of art, she enjoysknitting scarves as presents. I dont makeall of my presents by knitting them, but I doit quite a lot, Zumbrun said. For her, too, abig reason to make gifts herself is that itseems to have a more meaningful touch.
