Description:	—Senior night was especially significant for the trackand field team as they said goodbye to seniors whilefacing rival Bloomington North.In every sport at BloomingtonSouth, senior night was not only atime to say goodbye, it was also ahigh-pressure night. Graduatingseniors were driven to their limits bythe added pressure to win in thelast home event of the season. Forthe 2012-2013 South track andfield team, senior night was againstcross-town rival Bloomington North,adding to the Panthers pressure towin and drive for victory.For senior Michelle Nguyen,me pressure added to herperformance. Senior night was alittle depressing but at the sametime gave me motivation to go allout, she said. Nguyen achievedpersonal records in both events sheran that night, beating her 100meter and 200 meter times by 0.2and 0.4 seconds, respectively. ForNguyen, senior night was a greatway to end out high school season.We were pumped the entire time.Senior Sarah Hoffman agreedwith Nguyen: It was an emotionaland exciting night for everyone.People were super-charged, shesaid. This atmosphere affected theentire team, motivating them to fighthard for a win.And fight they did, but sadlyboth the boys and girls teams didnot quite overcome the Cougars,although they lost by only a smallmargin. Though the team lost as awhole, many of the individuals andrelays beat records or got theirpersonal records, one of which wasthe four-by-one hundred relayincluding Nguyen, freshmenMegan Grabowski and CydneyBomba, junior Isabelle Conradand sophomore Emily Morrone.The Panthers faced the pressureof senior night valiantly, andthough they they did not quite getthe win they were hoping for, theteam had a lot to be proud of.-JULIA RODGERSmeet & greetEach member on the Lady Panther softball team hasa specific role to play.
