Description: setting a new standardThe Bloomington South dance team enjoyed a record-setting competitiveseason, breaking records in placements in jazz, pom, and hip-hop.Entering a new place was nevereasy, and becoming a freshman inhigh school could be one of themost difficult things to adapt to,The adjustment to high schoolsocial and academic life whilemaintaining a level head was achallenging one. Asking freshmento step up to the highest level ofdance seemed almost out of thequestion; they simply had too muchto deal with,However, the Bloomington Southdance team did just that. With onlythree returning upperclassmen, thesquad had to rely on the majority ofunderclassmen to step up and helpthem achieve their record-breaking year.The team broke their ownrecord by winning all three eventsat the Crawfordsville Invitational.They also had their best showingever at state by finishing third inhip-hop, third in pom, and fourth injazz. Senior Kayla Thompson wasone of the team captains, and hadthe responsibility of helpingyounger team members.
