Description: the languagesof southThe foreign language students at BloomingtonSouth spent their class time not only learning a newlanguage, but also experiening a new culture.Vamos a EspanaThirty-one Bloomington South studentsplanned on taking the 11-hour flight toSpain to go on a Spanish adventure.The trip would not only challenge theirSpanish speaking abilities, but it wouldbe an opportunity to engulf themselvesin a new culture.The trip was a two week excursion,exploring the major cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Seville andCordova. The students would havea once- in-a-lifetime chance to travelthrough Spain first-class. We stay in allthree- and four-star hotels; its always sonice, Ms. Abigail Gray, a South Spanish teacher, said.This would be Ms. Grays third tripbringing South students to Spain. Graywas most looking forward to going toTappas bars. Tappas bars serve basically tiny meals, you get to try so manynew things, and its great, Gray said.Its my favorite way to eat; the kidsalways love it.Junior Emily Schlictman saidthat she was most excited for the metro,Im excited for the overnight train.The train would take them to the beachwhere they would have two whole daysto soak up the Spanish sun.Another activity the students werelooking forward to was visiting an artificial sword factory in Toledo. Theywould get to tour the factory and experience the making of some incrediblejewelry and artificial swords. Afterwards they all love to buy fake daggers and jewelry to bring home to theirfamilies, Gray explained.The Spain trip would be a greatlearning experience for all who attended. The students who would travelwould get to experience the culture,taste incredible food and see the mostbeautiful cities of Spain.
