A lot of clubsare organized out of self interest and what they like to do,but Helping Hands does what needs to be done in the community, said freshman]essica Arthur.This club was dedicated to giving back to the community by interacting with people at the food kitchen andcollecting canned foods for the Hoosier Hills Food Bank.During the spring food drive, South brought in more than3002 cans. Helping Hands has organized two food drives,one in the fall and one in the spring, and also a volunteerfair. The volunteer fair was basically just a wata to inform, people about different volunteer organizations andopportunities in Bloomington, said sofhomore KaitlinJorr.Outside of the food drives at south, a few membersof the Helping Hands drove over to the Soup Kitchen andthe Community Kitchen to help serve food to people whoneeded food assistance, it feels good to give back to thecommunity, said sofhomore Kelly Kish. its really funand more people should get involved.Helping Hands does notjust have activities thatthey want and have accomplished for this past \A,ear; theyhave also established goals for next lyear. We are aoina toget started earlier in the year to get more done, said Arthur.
