Description: stoy By: Anna Z,aretyou can find a club for just about anything hereat south, but senior Mattjensen andjuniorsejinBai feltthere was something our school was lacteing. There are alot of really talented artists and musicians at south, andwe wanted to make a club that could enable those studentsto use their talent to give back in the community, saidBai. The students decided to take action, resulting in thecreation of Art Reach.Art Reach was founded in the Q.oo^-^005 schoolyear. A lot of teachers were really excited about the project/Jensen said. Once we got things organized we hada nice sized grouf of people that all contributed different types of art. The diversity in the club is what reallyhelped it succeed. There were piano players, painters, andphotographers, as well as everything in between, studentsput their sfeils to work by putting on a showcase of musical f erf ormances at Rose Bud nursing home, workingwith kids on developing art skills, making crafts, anddonating art to different places within the communiti^.1 joined the club because it was different than anything else the school has done, said junior Jo anna Powers, who joined Art Rieach in its first year. \ hope that even after we leave the school the club will grow and stay active,Powers said.Bai agreed, everyone out there gives back to thecommunity though donating different goods to people inneed, she said, but people also need art and music in theirlives.
