Students finally got to know the way around this concretejungle without having to wear the mantle of being afreshman. The transition from freshman year to sophomore year was one that most of these students lookedforward to. Students realized that there was a lot moreto school than just the academic part. My sophomoreyear so far has been a lot easier, said sophomore NickJacobs. Students came out of their shells and joined inactivities that fit their goals and interests. Most students went through some sort of driving classes, and got the freedom that theyve dreamtabout for what seemed like a million years- theirlicense. Students looked forward to the day when theycould call themselves upperclassmen. There are more choices and freedom that came withgetting a license, said sophomore Jessica Hearne.Getting a license was the single thing thattaught students the real meaning of independence, andwhat it was truly like to be in control and responsiblefor yourself. Everything has changed. I feel so independent now that I have my license, all I have to do ischeck in with my parents and the rest is totally independent for me, said sophomore Lauren Lucas.Though being a sophomore was sweet compared to being a freshman, this class of students realized that the very best part of being a sophomore wasthat graduation was only two short years away. I lookforward to being an upperclassman because it meansIm just that much closer to graduating and being onmy own, said sophomore Amanda Patton.Sophomores one hi ww forty>~seve,7••B*jB|
