The senior year formany students held more significance than previous years.Students worked very hard to reach the homestretch ofhigh school and made the most of every opportunity.Jordan Webb said one of the perks of being a seniorwas no waiting in lines, explaining the state-of-mind thatonly seniors were able to pull off.In my classes I bring food and we get to have funand chill out. Im also taking more non-academic classes, said Barbie Wenstrup about her less stressful last year ofhigh school. Many seniors were able to balance their moredifficult classes with electives to make for a more enjoyablesix and a half hours of school.Long school days werent a part of every seniorsschedule. Some seniors took internships with localbusinesses, some did cadet teaching, and others attendedclasses at IU. This made for half days and a way to easeinto the college life ahead. For Nathan Dau-Schimdt, the senior year started ayear earlier than he anticipated. After his sophomore year, while talking to his guidance counselor about a schedulechange, she informed him that he could have enough creditsto graduate with the class of 06. It feels the same in thatmy classes have the same people in them, Dau-Schmidtsaid about the difference from switching to senior status. He then had to go through the cycle of college applicationsand prepared for new beginnings, along with the rest of hisnew class of seniors.Applying for colleges wasnt the only thing thatkept seniors busy. Students also had to deal with the manyemotions that came with being a senior. Some students wereabout to lose their best friend to an out-of-state college, while other students tried to decide where and what todo to launch their futures. Being a senior meant sortingthrough all of lifes priorities, and realizing what the pastfour years were really all about.Seniors 0ne £my$M&nineteen
