Bruce visited Europe withher friend, freshman Casey Roberts, whom Bruce refers to as her wife, adescription of how inseparable the two are. Roberts and Bruce spenttheir break visiting medieval castles. They visited the Neuschwansteinand Heidelburg castles. Bruce said, It was the best; amazing.But not everybody can go to Europe for spring break. FortMeyers, Naples, Panama City, Miami, Marco Island were just a few ofthe places in Florida that were swarming with high school studentsfrom all over the country. Freshman Katelynn Keel went to Orlando,Florida for vacation and Midwest Cheer All Stars. Keel went with hergrandmother and cousin Stephanie. We played on the beach, drank (nonalcoholic) pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris and we (Midwest cheer allstars) got 4th in the nation, she said.For many spring breakers, a good tan was essential; no one couldgo to Florida and come back without a tan. I got a great tan and got buckwild, said Keel, an expert in tanning, The rays were not up to par on thebeach, but they were by the pool.A little further South in Fort Myers, another South student lay on thebeach. Junior Nick Wozniak had a fun time with fellowjunior Dave Huber.We were having a party in senior Sam Colmans room, and security had tocome up for having too many people in a room at one time, said Wozniak.Spring break is not always fun and games...in fact, it can bedangerous. On Marco Island on Saint Patricks Day, junior James Mosemanand a few good friends were involved in a car wreck with a drunk driver.Moseman said he tried helping the drunk driver, but the driver was sointoxicated that he was unaware of what was happening. No one was hurtso Moseman considered this spring break a success.For others, spring break was lower key. Freshman EricaCunningham didnt leave Bloomington. Cunningham said she spent mostof her time with friends and family. I love it here, Cunningham said ofBloomington. I learned a few new songs on my guitar, I got to be witha lot of friends I havent seen for a long time, and all in all it was the bestspring break I have ever had.(Left) Sophomores DruPatrick and Nikki Taylorenjoy spring breakalong the coast of MyrtleBeach.
