Description:	Dy Lisa SmithFriday night football game: a popular social euent that many students will attend, Rlthough there is the buzz of the game, the half-time show isalways welcomed and anticipated, The marching band walks proudly out with the colorguard dancers close behind, They perform and enlt, only inthe spotlight for about fiue minutes,Rlthough their songs and steps seem short to the audience, the Panther Regiment, which includes the popular colorguard, spends lots of timepracticing and preparing for these shows, The Regiment holds an intense camp ouer the summer at which members work from 9.00 a,m, to 8:00 p,m,Once the school year starts, they practice three times a week for two hours, UUe learn all of the drills and formations, and then we put themtogether, sophomore Tim Datalon said,The diligent band is wonderfully complimented by thein colorguard dancers, They haue a long week in Rugust with the band members to prepare,and, once school starts, they normally practice eueryday encept one day, all after school, sophomore Suzanne Gardnen said, The colorguardneuen misses a performance and they take part in diferent competitions Query weekend, The competitions are euery Saturday, and last from 6am until midnight, Gardner said,Rlthough the band members are pushing themselues to the maHimum, they are also hauing lots of fun, and the result is rewarding, The mostmemorable moments fon me are the crowd reactions to our show, said director Robert Dubinski, known to eueryone as Dubie, UJhen askedabout his fauonite part of Panther Regiment, sophomore RyanForrest said, Dubie teaches us dance routines, Some of themoues are from 77?^ fflask a few are moues of his own,Panther Regiment and the South Colonguand are greatclubs that anyone can join, Nobody will be tunned away, as longas they are willing to work hand and haue a gneat time, RsForrest put it, you got to funkifize,(Above) Alembers ol the colorguard hold theirposition while standing in set. f he group spent thesummer learning several key techniques duringintense practices.(Kight) During hall time of a Varsity footballgame, the Panther Regiments hard practice paysoil as they deliver a wonderiul penormance.
