Description: Story by Krissi TarrSide ponytails, off-the-shoulder sweaters, spandex pants, leg warmers, and big hair were seen throughout Bloomington South High Schoolon the first day of the fall spirit week. The rest of the week, the halls were filled with movie characters, sports figures, cowboys, andended with purple and white clothes worn throughout the school.Spirit week started off with 80s day on Monday. On Tuesday students dressed as their favorite book or movie character for characterday. They introduced thea toothpick game, and delivered the good news tothe banner contest and were the recepients of $50.Decatur Central in the Homecoming game, andmany students attended to support their Panthers. The first half of the game was kind of slow for some reason, junior Kaylie Shertzersaid. But The second half was much better, and it was pretty funny watching Sam Cull do his Sam Jam. The members of theHomecoming court were introduced at half time, and shortly after Kate Middleton was appointed by her fellow classmates as Homecomingqueen. South won the game 29-21.To round off the exciting week the students at South attended the Homecoming dance on Saturday night in the white gym. The themewas Mardi Gras: A Night in New Orleans, and many students dressed accordingly. The dance was great, the decorations were great, themusic was awesome and there were a lot of people there. It was a good time, said junior Kelsey Heard During the dance Dustin Dillardwas crowned Homecoming king and danced with the Homecoming queen, Kate Middleton, for the next song.
