Description:	week in,Story by Katie SchellEveryone looks forward to it all week. There arecountdowns, plans and ultimately the 2:30 pm bell that letseveryone know its here - the weekend - the reason for moststudents existence. But when the average high schooler isquestioned about weekends, they dontknowhowto respond.There are parties and stuff sometimes, but mostly I justspend time with friends, senior Greer Mclntyre said. Thismay be the average teenage response but students must domore than that. Some students have started a poker gameto fill their time. Playing poker is cool because its just hangingout with friends but with something more to do than justwatch TV, sophomore Sam Howry said.Other kids chose to fill their time by going to movies on theweekend. I like going to movies on the weekend with mydad because then I dont have to pay, junior Nick Melloan-Ruiz said. There was the regular theatre, the discount theatre,and then the Ryder Film Series, which played independentmovies Kerasotes didnt always play. The Ryder is coolbecause it is an opportunity to see movies we dont usuallyget in Bloomington, senior Lindsey Garner said.But for the student who didnt want to sit around the wholeweekend, there were options too. Many students chose totake advantage of the snowy weather by sledding. It was agood way to get out of the house andhave fun, junior JessicaBush said.There was also Rhinos, an entertainment club, whichplayed local bands every weekend. The club was for all agesso it was popular with South students. [Rhinos] is a greatopportunity for Bloomington youth to not only experiencegreat live music, but also to hear music written and performedby other teens in Bloomington.
