The class met during fifth period but members alsovideotaped events outside of school.By Allie BehneyStudents may often see rovingcameramen wandering the halls ofschool, intervening in the classrooms.The result videos that reach theentire student body. The mediaproductions class produces manyfilming projects, most culminating inthe weekly SRT Show.All shows were organized andproduced by students, featuring adifferent anchor each week. Its alot of pressure to be the anchor,because most of it is on-the-spot,and the whole school is watching you,sophomore Bryant Fox said. ProducingThe SRT Show took more than justgood public speaking skills. Thestudents were also in charge ofkeeping up on current school events,writing scripts, recording segments,and editing film.The SRT Show owed its success tothe work and dedication of the mediaproductions class. We [did]everything as a team, from input...andideas to setting up equipment, juniorGage Mosier said.Media productions created videosfor outside causes as well. We[worked] on a project for theVeterans Association Hospital tocreate an instructional video forfirst-time patients, sophomoreJon-Erik Misz said. Media productionswas a way for students to gain mediaknowledge, and to also give somethingback.Freshman Paul Sipes types a list of ideas forthe weeks show. The class would collaboratetogether to decide possible topics.Senior Seth Stager helps edit a segment for The SRT Show featuring GregMongold, math, playing the guitar.
