It wasfun dominating the city rivalryso badly, junior Zach Claysaid.Senior Chris Crouch, athree year varsity member, wasthe only senior on the team.He and junior Tony Danielsshared the number one spot.Crouch was a very big partto our team. He was a veteranthat led by example on thecourse, junior Tim Cross said.The team hosted theConference Indianatournament at theBloomington Country Club.Senior Chris Crouch wonmedalist honors and juniorJordan Tabereaux placed thirdoverall as the team took thechampionship by four strokes.I was very pleased with myindividual effort. It helped usa lot that we played at ourcourse, Tabereaux said.Second, third, 13th and thirdplace finishes had been theresults of State meetappearances for the Panthersthe last four years. In 2000, theteam continued the tradition byfinishing ninth at State.We are always expected todo well in the tournament. Wealways have good golfers atSouth, and this year was noexception, junior Tony Danielssaid.On the way home frommatches, the team alwaysstopped and ate at DairyQueen.It was always fun to stopwith the team. If we wonGeorge (Coach Finley) wouldbuy us ice cream.
