With diplomas in hand,students left Indiana University Assembly Hall withpride, both in themselves and the Panthers.Commencement signified a right of passage formany students. Some also found it to be an unrealexperience. Its kind of weird to think Im nevergoing back to high school. But its exciting to bemoving on to new and bigger things,BIKINI KI L Lj senior Deanne Woodruff said.Some graduating seniors found theadjustment difficult and were also anxiousover the unknown future. It doesnt feellike school is over yet. Im really dreading36 GOTHIC • reflectionsREJECT ALL AMERICANgoing to work and college, senior Sam Bowling said.However, despite the pomp and circumstance ofgraduation day, for some seniors school was not quiteover yet. Some needed to finish required courses overthe summer. I didnt go to commencements becauseI havent graduated yet, but Im going to after summerschool is over, senior Ryan Mosier said.Students that graduated after the first or secondtrimester joined the rest of the graduating class duringcommencements.March graduate senior Kai Westerfield said, Itwas nice to see the people I like but it was weird tobe back.
